Measuring single cell power

When measuring the maximum current on a large 15cm x 15cm cell you cannot use a normal multi-meter because the meter's inbuilt shunt has a resistance that is too high to allow sufficient current flow.
You need to make up your own shunt from some high wattage ceramic resistors/ frame resistor or just a length of copper wire.
You typically need a load/shunt of about 0.066 Ohms, so to calibrate the resistance of this you need to measure the current flowing through it, say 1 amp and the voltage drop across it, say 0.065 Volts then ohms law states R=V/I = 0.065 / 1 = 0.065 Ohms.
To measure the current output connect your shunt across the cell's tab wires and measure the volts drop across the shunt. The current will be I = V/R = 0.475 x 0.66 = 7.2 amps, power will be P = V X I = 0.475 x 7.2 = 3.42 watts.
