- Work-shops
We encourage people of all levels of management to participate in the workshops and randomly assign groups to ensure cross information sharing.

By actively engaging people to learn and share their own knowledge they are providing the solutions. We do this by arranging groups activities to answer questions such as “how can you save money on carbon related activities?”
Groups will then present their findings and give answers to where the organisation can achieve savings.
Example of presentation and work shop
Is Global Warming Real? Is it real to me? What is Global Warming anyway?
- Overview of the current status, where it began and where we are
heading. Global warming is a series of local changes, temperature
variations etc rather than the whole globe getting warmer.
What is a gram of CO2, how do we measure CO2?
- This is important because many people do not fully understand how to
relate to their emissions and what it means in principle, like when
buying a car.
My daily routines and where to save energy - it's all around me
- Leaving your PC on at night, lighting the office when its light
outside or almost empty, heating, cooling and energy consumption.
Energy awareness group activity - 4 Groups of 5-7 (groups do not see each others questions)
Group 1 3 ways how can you personally save carbon to your organisation (while at work)
Group 2 3 ways you can personally save money to your organisation (on carbon intensive resources)
Group 3 3 ways how your company can save carbon
Group 4 3 ways how your company can save money (on carbon intensive resources)
This exersize will highlight the connection between money and carbon saving and engage people in discussions
5 min Comfort break
Recycling and why it makes a difference - Examples of savings, such as why aluminium is hugely energy intensive to produce and saves 95-98% energy when recycled.
Results of Energy awareness group activity
- Groups present their findings, these are written down on the board
for comparison, review and open discussion. Outcome should demonstrate
the close relation between saving carbon and money on both a personal
and organisational level.
Closing statement - responsibilities are with us all and suggestions-
Webex
instead of business travel, fuel efficient car fleet, less take out
meals, more cycling to work, incorrect office environment, equipment on
standby/left on. We must all look for ways to reduce CO2 and other
pollutants. The cost savings are important but the real benefit is that
we are working for a cleaner future.
3 minute feedback -
Group fill out form where they rate the quality/performance/relevance
of the session. Results are fed back to you and also helps us improve
our future presentations
Open questions and answers (people
can begin to leave)What can your business do to make these
changes?Implement an environmental policy and help the staff understand
what is at stake for them and the business if they are not successful.
